C2M Future work

with 2 comments

This points we stated as our future work for Cap2Monitor for further development

  • Employing more techniques, ex: Mu Rythem, wink right, wink left, etc.
  • Extending our application that it won’t only include desktop control ability but also environmental control capabilities. [ex: Smart House Control, Robot Control, etc]
  • Emotiv systems have developed a new headset for human computer interaction. Developing Cap2Monitor SDK to be compatible with the Emotiv head set based on the latest development in neuro-technology.

Documentation – Structure

leave a comment »

Hello Dears,

Here are some guide points to write our documentation ..

  • Introduction (usually discusses why you picked the project, problem definition, how it solves it, the need + how u planned the work + how the documentation is gonna go on)
  • Design (you define the design and architecture of the project, include any design documents/diagrams you can come up with)
  • Implementation (most probably that’s a few chapters, we wrote every module as a separate chapter since the overall was defined at the beginning)
  • Results (what did you achieve, challenges and problems faced, results, graphs, demos, snapshots, etc)
  • Related Work (with comparison), Future Work, Appendices (if u need any – extra explanation, important code references, scientific explanation, etc) and References

Application Flickering Objects

with 2 comments

c2m-desktop

C2M Desktop

Hello,

Well, when thinking about the application; when the user choose the cursor to control. If the flickering objects on the four corners of the screen will be like the image displayed at the last seminar [Over the desktop], I think it’ll be really annoying and desktop space will be wasted ..

So, I thought it could be like this; that once we choose to control the mouse, the menu disappear and the interface be like the displayed image and after two [Look down] the user could return to the menu ..

The “Flicker” and “F” objects on sides will be the flickering objects and the desktop is fully contained ..

The question is: Could it be done? and How??

Going right & left and repeat itself with the given frequency .. that’s right the flickering application 😉

It’ll be used later to generate the stimulus frequencies we need for our project ..

First Seminar “Rehearsal”

leave a comment »

Well, today was supposed to be a normal meeting with our supervisor Dr. Haythem and it turned to be; Not our first seminar, but it was a good rehearsal for it, in-front of Dr. Haythem & Dr. Mohamed our second supervisor, it was at the seminar room, with the projector & everything 😀

The good thing that we were prepared, so it was a good one e7l, now we just need to have the logo, the presentation design and to stress more on checking the techniques data and the comparison between them when presenting ..

Our first seminar will be on the first week of December isA ..

About Cap-2-Monitor

leave a comment »

Cap2Monitor Logo

Cap2Monitor Logo

Cap 2 Monitor is an attempt to communicate directly a brain with a computer. This is of the utmost interest for people with severe motor disabilities, who cannot use the standard communication devices like keyboards or cursors.

It relies on non-invasive EEG (electroencephalogram) electrodes, which are attached to the scalp. The electrodes detect the EEG signals related to motor intentions, like the preparation to move the left hand, or just imagining making such movement. Once the EEG signal has been decoded, it can be used to move a cursor on the screen, or to execute commands in a computer. For instance, the intention to move the right hand can be used to move the cursor to the right, and so on.
